Meow
The first band to play was "Meow". They had an odd tempo and energy that was captivating. Their lyrics felt more like slam poetry overlaid on a distorted guitar and keyboard. They were a genuinely enthralling experience.
Hands of a Killer
The next band to play was another Western Mass local - Hands of a Killer. Despite being a last minute addition to the lineup, they put on a great performance. Described as "413 Deathcore", their Linktree can be found here.
Daisy Chain
Hailing from the 518, Daisy Chain was one of the two "Upstate Screamo" bands that performed. They are what you expect - a metal/screamo band - but they bring a unique sound and energy to their performance and music. They can be found on Instagram at @pleaforguidance and on Soundcloud.
Roblox Tycoon
Another 518 band, on tour with Daisy Chain, Roblox Tycoon was an experience. It's difficult to explain their sound or really anything about them, but they are incredible. Note the lead singer holding a log akin to The Log Lady from Twin Peaks (they made a few Twin Peaks references during their performance). They can be found on Instagram as @robloxtycoonband and on soundcloud.
When reviewing images for another band, I spotted the lead singer pointing directly at me.
Nutsing Charlies
Nutsing Charlies is self-described as "413 Punk Music" and certainly delivered, while still having a fun and abstract element to their performance that reminded me of Roblox Tycoon. They had a relatively short set which limited what photos that I could get, unfortunately.
Jumpy!
A local favorite, Jumpy once again performed at Ulculvert. Like his performance on 6/2 (which you can find my photos of here), he was an incredible act. His music is captivating, energizing, and uplifting. He's full of genuine emotion that draws you into his music.
